BNC ENGINEERING can supply ion exchange systems using cation (a negatively charged ion) / anion (a positively charged ion) exchange resins for a wide variety of water treatment applications.

Our ion exchange systems can remove contaminants such as:

  • Hardness
  • Nitrates
  • Fluorides
  • Arsenic
  • Barium
  • Organics
  • Alkalinity
  • Sulfates
  • Color
  • Chlorates
  • Radium reduction
  • Organic reduction

The Ion Exchange plants are fully automatic type by PLC controlled and are complete of Regeneration System for cation and anion resin (chemicals storage tanks, flowmeter, metering pumps).

Ion exchange is a water process commonly used for water softening or demineralization where is required a very high quality, but it also is used to remove other substances from the water in processes such as de-alkalization, deionization, and disinfection.

Ion exchange is considered a specific chemical process in which unwanted dissolved ions are exchanged for other ions with a similar charge.
Ions are atoms or molecules containing a total number of electrons that are not equal to the total number of protons.
There are two different groups of ions, cations, which are positively charged, and anions, which are negatively charged. The plants can be simple or duplex to produce a continuous demi water also during the resins’ backwashing and regeneration.
The plants are normally automatic both during the production both during the regeneration.
The best quality of demi water has resistance of approx. 18,2 MegaOhm·cm or a conductivity of 0.055 microSiemens per cm.
Many can be the applications of this type of plant as:

                                                                       • Boiler Feed Water
                                                                       • Pharmaceutical applications
                                                                       • Electronics industry
                                                                       • Food applications
                                                                       • Industrial applications

"The water is condescending, mobile, transparent, tasteless. One easily has the impression that, in comparison with the rest of reality, it is in some way otherworldly."
